Portland has undergone exponential expansion these last few years. With expansion comes growth and reconstruction across the Portland expanse. As someone who has spent the last decade of my life in this region there is apprehension that comes when it feels like what made Portland well…Portland, is changing at its core. But there is also a welcome excitement in seeing what Portland will grow and cultivate with such a revolution.
One characteristic that I have enjoyed is seeing the re purposing of older buildings into fun, creative event spaces. My favorite of these buildings is Revolution Hall. They not only offer a fantastic rooftop bar but two other bars inside and a fantastic intimate auditorium that I have enjoyed with friends and out by myself.

Most recently I had the pleasure of going to my second live Podcast event. I am a quite the podcast junkie and Snap Judgement has been a guilty pleasure of mine for years now.
I always like to arrive to an event space like this a bit early so I have time to get drinks, walk around or grab a bite before the show. Thankfully the evening was still warm so I popped up the the rooftop for a drink and enjoy the sunset.
Dress here is pretty casual but if your attending a show don’t feel obligated to dress down. The bar and restaurant here stay open to the public even during shows so you’ll always see a mix of young old, casual and borderline club attire.
If you want to grab a drink to take into the auditorium stop by the second floor bar and grab a Custis cup, you will not regret it I promise!
Even with the balcony level up top the auditorium still feels very intimate and blame it on my climb gradual ascension to my late twenties, I absolutely love that there is seating!
One of my favorite aspects about smaller venues is that you can easily catch a glimpse of performers enjoying the venue after the show. On my way for a one last view before heading home I had the delight of meeting one of my favorite hosts in person!
If your looking for a fun evening out with your friends or by yourself I highly recommend giving revolution hall a stroll through, you wont be disappointed!
